celebrate good times

I wasn't sure what today would be like. I looked outside and was greeted by the cold morning.

But so far the day has been nothing short of excellent. Someone that I've known since probably grade one, who I haven't had contact with since I left Launceston actually contacted me today.

It was so crazy and unexpected, but it made my day.

She's off doing the most amazing things like rafting and weapons training.

Seriously, to hear about everything that she's doing made me so proud and happy for her. And it made my life and what I'm doing seem so small and unimportant.

I'm overwhelmed. If we happen to be back in Launceston at the same time in the Christmas break we're going to catch up in person.

I hope that happens.

And then I got a phone call that made me one very, very happy girl.

Our new owner wants to put a carport along the side of our unit. With a gate. And he also wants to put in gas heating and insulation.

We won't be cold anymore!

Plus, he has told our neighbours that he will not be putting the rent up next year.

If all of those improvements go ahead and the rent stays the same I'm pretty sure that we'll be living here for a while.

I don't mind. Aside from the peacocks I kinda like living in this place. We have the best video store I know of, and our new neighbours look out for us.

I don't think today could get any better. I love catching up with old friends, it should happen more often.
